Hey there everyone!!

Boomerangs and didgeridoos have been made by all of the children on the first floor. I hope they haven't throw the boomerangs too much!! I went to the Christmas stalls in front of the Palace of Culture and Science. They were selling so many Polish things, so I bought some Polish presents for my family. :D I saw the GIANT purple Christmas tree in the city. It looked so cool. Nowy Swiat is so pretty with all of the Christmas decorations as well! I cannot wait for Christmas and to decorate the Christmas tree!! :D

Hey Kids!

This week, children in the second grade had some fun making didgeridoos. A didgeridoo is a musical instrument that Indigenous Australians make and use. They create a very interesting sound, as most of the students found out. We also had some fun making boomerangs. Unfortunately, they didn't return to us when we tried to throw them! I also had a fantastic weekend with my host family. We made a lot of interesting shaped gingerbread. Christmas trees, stars, bells, and many other shapes It was so much fun. I'm really looking forward to a Polish (hopefully white :D) Christmas!

Last weekend I did not do very much at all, but alot happened back home in Australia. TheRE was a very very big storm that hit pPrth, my hometown. There was hail the size of tennis balls, streets we're flooded and lightning was striking all around my house. My sister called me during the middle of the storm so I could hear it. Yes, I heard a storm on the other side of the world here in Poland. My garage was flooded and my dad had to take 2 days off work to clean it out. I felt bad I want there to help.

This weekend I went to Rome with some of the other volunteers. I saw all of the amazing sights there. The Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, and of course the Vatican. It is so interesting there because everywhere we went there was so much history. Some things are 500 years old, some 1000 and some 2000 years old. Australia doesn't have this much history at all, and I am really glad that I had the opportunity to visit such an iconic city!

This weekend I stayed in Warsaw and went to a party at my host family's house. It was a very late Halloween party, and it was held in the English school run by mrs Gosia. It was alot of fun, and I got to play heaps of Halloween games, eat alot of candy and sing alot of songs. Also, my mum told me that her and my dad are coming over from Australia to Visit me. They will be landing in London just 1 day after Chrismas. I wont be able to spend Chrismas with them, but I will be able to spend some time with them over the holidays, which I'm very excited for.

Hey there everyone!

Vegemite! Most of the children loved it, and a few of them hated it, but even the ones who hated it, will remember it. This week I thought I should bring a little bit of Australia to Warsaw, so I brought something to class that Australians love to eat - Vegemite. It is very salty and has a strange taste, but most Australians love to eat it on toast, in a sandwich and some even love it in soup! I really enjoyed seeing everyones reactions to this classic food. Maybe next time we try some kangaroo?

Hey Warsaw 306 Alex here .This weekend I went to Rome,Italy. It was an amazing experience, and I got to see many fantastic sights like the Colosseum, the Trevi fountain, The Spanish steps and the Vatican. But better than all of them by far, was seeing the Pope on sunday. I also went to Florence for a day to see my friend from Australian, who is now living there. It was great to catch up with someone from back home, and talk about life back in Perth.

Hello there everyone!!

I had a really nice, really relaxed week this week. It was really nice to see you kids selling sweets and toys to raise money for something important! So of course I bought a few things! I spent this weekend with my host family. On Saturday we went to a market which sold old things. It was really cool. There were some really interesting things there and some of them were REALLY expensive! There were a lot of things from the war and also many pieces of jewellery. It was really great! But of course, it was really cold. On Sunday I went by bike with my sister Hania to the park close to our house. We had a lovely time there but I was very happy to go back home and get warm! Overall, it was another fantastic week here in Bemowo!

This weekend I went to lo London to see some of my family. I saw my 2 cousins who are living in london. This was the second time since I've left australia that I've meet some family, and I enjoyed it quite alot. It is very lonely living on the other side of the world, away from your family and friends. In London I saw many famous buildings. Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London and Westminster Abbey. They were all very impressive, and very beautiful. I would love to come back and live in london one day.

Hey kids, This week I went to Ireland. The city I was in was very small and called Cork. The airport there has grass in it which I thought was very funny because I don't know any other airports which have grass. Everyone there is very friendly and they love to talk. They always asked me if I needed help. I went to visit Blarney Castle and to kiss the Blarney stone. The Irish believe that if you kiss the Blarney stone, you will receive the gift of eloquence. I don't think it has started working yet!! There were also a lot of Polish people in Ireland. I thought it was really funny because I had just left Poland and there were still Polish people everywhere. It was nice to hear some Polish.

This weekend I spent my time in Berlin, another city in Europe I am visiting for the first time. Berlin is another city that I enjoyed alot, and I am sure I will be heading back there sometime soon. Berlin is different to Prague, because it doesn't have old buildings, it has new buildings that they have made to look old. Berlin is an exciting city to visit because everyone is young, fun and they all speak english very well.

Hi Kids of the best school ever!! This week I realised that I don't have so much time left here. I am already half way through my placement. This makes me really sad because I really love teaching everyone here and living in Warsaw. I am really excited for all of us to begin our Australian Aboriginal Art in the next few weeks, and I hope that you all have a lot of fun. Don't be afraid to ask me questions about Australia!!

This weekend I went to prague, in the Czech Republic. Prague is a very beauiful city, with alot of old castles and buildings, that we just don't have where I am from. There are also alot of other things to do in Prague. There is a very big football stadium, and there is a nightclub there that is 6 stories high. I enjoyed Prague more than any other city I have been to in europe so far.
